How does your past work as a stylist influence your personal style?
"Many times, as a stylist, it was the other way around, and my personal style would influence my work. I would want to create the model in my own image—braids, hoops, and monotone looks. Then, there were times I wanted to style looks that were a little more adventurous. Sometimes, the client would allow it. (My three favorite words from a client were, "I trust you.") Sometimes, the clients needed looks that were simpler, safer, more on-brand, and more relatable to the buyer. Now that I'm only styling myself, I tend to be more fluid with my style. I'm my only canvas now. Sometimes, I can embrace more adventurous layering, accessorizing, and color combinations. And sometimes, I really sense the value in keeping things extremely pared down and classic. I still have the braid and wear hoops and monotone looks after all these years, though. "

You have a newsletter (The Sort). What is your focus there and why did you start it?
"The Sort is a newsletter/blog I started in 2021 when we downsized from a 1920s Spanish home in the hills of Los Feliz to a new condo tower in downtown Los Angeles. We were furnishing the new space in a way that worked with our 180 degree shift. I wanted a way to share some of the home goods I was finding, and to continue to spread the word about apparel and beauty products I love. About a year and a half ago, I moved The Sort to Substack, where I continue spreading the love. We are 99% through furnishing our home, and now I continue to recommend beauty products, inform readers about sales, and share my outfit details. But I'm all about keeping it expansive, so as I approached 50 and was experiencing perimenopause, I began to share more about all of the feelings related to aging - good and bad - that came up for me. I share some wisdom and advice with a mix of humor and vulnerability. Now, I'm in training to become a certified sex coach, and I'm beginning to weave a little bit more of what I'm learning in my sexology courses into my posts on The Sort."

What is your favorite place to travel and why? What lingerie do you bring with you when you travel?
"My favorite places to travel are Maui, Ibiza, and any place, preferably an island, with a warm, sultry climate. Since I'm wearing very little clothing, or clothing that is sheer and breezy, I take special consideration for what I'm wearing underneath, whether it's a swimsuit or a pretty bra and panties. This also adds to the erotic charge I'm already feeling while vacationing on a warm, blissful island away from the hustle and bustle.

What do you look for in lingerie for yourself?
"I look for lingerie that fits perfectly, has a flattering cut, and is made with luxurious fabrics."
"How do you incorporate lingerie into your outfits?"
“I most enjoy wearing lingerie for someone who loves seeing me in it. I love to wear it as a little secret that will be a pleasant surprise from them later.”

What makes ELSE special to you?
“Else is so special to me because it all fits so well. I have a small ribcage, and Else makes the only strapless bra I can wear. It stays in place, supports, and, of course, looks stunning. I love all the laces. I also love that it feels very elegant and grown-up, which helps me embody feelings of confidence, empowerment, and being a woman who is a fully realized sexual being.”
